The big day

Well, have missed so much of the prep - but some photos of the big day - prior to the 'official' ones.

The bride, the bridesmaids with me in the middle and the happy couple's first dance.

Unfortunately there isn't one of OH with Laura - yet.

Invites away

Well, haven't blogged for some time. Invites were sent out at the beginning of July - for a return by 1st August - then we have a little time to 'chase' those who haven't replied.

The guests for the day have a choice of menu - so they need to let us know what they want to eat.

Starters - Minestrone Soup, Mackrell,or Chicken and Mushroom vol au vont
Main - Beef, Turkey or Lamb shank
Sweet - Treacle sponge, profiteroles, fresh fruit or Lemon meringue.

We bought the wedding favour nets and chocolates in France when we were on holiday. Just need to make them up.

The rings have been bought.

The mother of the bride (otherwise know as me) has now got some shoes - no outfit - just shoes and a facinator!!!!!

Honeymoon

Well, I've been informed that the honeymoon has been booked. A fortnight in the Maldives - very nice.

Saturday 2nd May - latest news.....

Well, men now kitted out too - suits, shirts, etc, etc - although waistcoats are yet to be sorted out.

A bit of a traumatic experience - 5 men in one shop with bride, bride's mother, groom's mother and a very attentive salesman! The 6th man was going to be taken to be measured on Monday - not heard anything so all must be ok.

Thought there was going to be a hiccup at one point - but all worked out in the end.

Bridesmaids

Success!!!!!

After trawling the White Rose Centre on Wednesday night - and nothing remotely suitable, we had success at Sheffield at La Bella Brides. After much trying on of dresses - and swaping over who was wearing which dress - making sure both colour and style was right for both Jo and Sarah, the dresses were chosen, measurements taken and deposit paid - only shoes and accessories to buy now. One good thing about the dresses is that they come with a shrug - and I know how to fasten it at the back!!!!!

One more item off the 'to get' list.

Still to do -

All the outfits for the fathers of bride and groom, Groom, best man, ushers need to be sorted out and also bridesmaid dresses, shoes and headwear.

Flowers also need organising.

And - mother of the bride - well I have got this feathery thing for my hair - in black!!!!

Going this week to try and find bridesmaid dresses - one day without Jo and Sarah and the second night with them both - this sure is going to be interesting - why do I feel it isn't going to be as easy as the bride's dress!!!!!
